Sourdough starter, also known as sourdough or natural yeast, is a fermented dough of flour and water that is "nourished" regularly to keep it alive. Bread made with sourdough starter is captivating from the first bite: a golden, fragrant crust, a soft yet firm crumb, and an intense flavor. Sourdough starter makes bread lighter and more digestible.
